Hi guys and welcome back to How to: School! This is just a brief post on how to deal with the students (me included) who play games on their phones the entire time.
The type of person that the gamers are can vary greatly, but generally if you simply take out your phone and start talking to them, they will be happy to let you into their group.
Don’t take their phone or cover it to start a conversation, just talk to them and you will be fine. They generally will allow their group to grow, but if they are on their own then you should read one of my older posts called: How to Deal with all of the Different Types of Student – Shy.
I don’t know what else to say about this type of student, many students just use their phone because they don’t know what else to do. But if you present a different game to play (one time I just brought in a football), they may jump up and be happy to play. So just ask.
