Hey guys, I would first like to apologise about yesterday’s post; I was watching the television with my family and I ran out of time! Here is the promised list of my top 5 Christmas films, perfect to watch on Christmas eve and throughout the holidays.
5. Elf. A funny film, but it is placed at No. 5 because there are many other better Christmas films (in my opinion). Great for a film to watch over the Christmas holidays, but not for Christmas eve.
4. E.T. A film that is also not generally thought of as a Christmas film, but it is a charming tale and perfect for a great Christmas film over the holidays.
3. Home Alone. I like all of these films, but my favourite is the original. A very funny film and perfect for the whole family. A few scenes that may be a bit ‘violent’ for really young viewers. But, these are generally overshadowed by the may comedic moments in the film.
2. Muppets Christmas Carol. I really like this film, it is obviously based on the Charles Dickens’ novel: ‘A Christmas Carole’; which is a well-known tale. It tells the story in a new and more understandable way. It is funny and is perfect for a Christmas eve film.
1. Gremlins (the original 1984 version). I know that this film isn’t really about Christmas, but it is quite common in my family for us to watch Gremlins on Christmas eve; and I love the film. It is also associated with Christmas because that is the time period in which it is set – and when it was released.
