How to Learn a New Language

If you are reading this then I have completely run out of time today and you are reading a pre-made post in the use of emergency’s. This post is on how to learn a new language, and it all comes back down to practice.

I know, I know, that you were clicking on this post in the hopes for some miracle cure for all of your future language tests, but I do have a few key tips that are sometimes missed by people talking about this topic.

I do GCSE Mandarin, and trying to learn a new language, and one without letters, is really hard; but I have gotten full marks in the previous 4 tests that I have done.

So, this is how I do it: Firstly, I write in English all of the words that I want to learn and photocopy the list, then, I write very carefully all of the Mandarin out next to it … 3 times. So that my memory is starting to be reinforced. Next, I take the photocopy and test myself 15 minutes later, so that my short term memory is cut out of the loop. Any words that I can’t remember or get wrong, I write on the back of the sheet, carefully write the correct characters next to it 3 times. Then, I wait 15 minutes and try out the abbreviated list of the words I failed the first time. Repeat until all of the words are flawless. Do the test again the next day to be sure you know them all, repeat the above steps if you get any of the words wrong.

So, there you have it; my perfect way to learn new words in a foreign language!
