How to: School – Common Mistakes

This is another section of the book that I am writing (yes I am still writing it), and today I am talking about a large portion of the book – Common Mistakes. There are a lot of them and as human beings we are not perfect, so we are all going to make one sooner or later. Nobody is perfect. So, without further adieu; here is a short extract from the book!

A Short Extract from How to: School

Common Mistakes:

There are plenty of mistakes that we all make throughout our school lives. Whether these are planning errors, academic errors and so on, we all do them, and that’s important to remember – we’re all human! Maybe you forgot your homework (we’ve all done that) or left a book at home, hopefully your teacher will appreciate that and not give you too much of a hard time. The problem comes when you do this constantly. If you’re one of those people that always forgets something, you need a strategy because teachers won’t take too kindly that you always come unprepared to class. So what can you do to help yourself? You might think that being organised is a skill that you’re born with – well, it’s not. Anyone can be organised. You just have to plan well. Write everything down if you think you’ll forget it. A common mistake is thinking: ‘I’ll remember to bring that’, or: ‘I won’t forget to do that homework’. Don’t be that person. Just write it down; it’ll save you a whole lot of stress later for a few seconds of writing. If you really struggle with organisation, be sure to read the ‘How Not to be Underprepared’ chapter of this book.
